Yet Another Book Haul (Book Haul is Life!)

So yeah, uhhhm, here’s another book haul! Here are the books that I got from previous months that I haven’t posted yet here in my blog. I thought I only had a few to show but when I was finished piling them up, I ended up with a little less than 60 books. Yes, 60 books! I know that number is crazy considering that it’s only like 2 months ago since I also posted a major book haul like this. Well, I would like to think that me and bookstores just really go well together. No regrets. No excuses. Book haul is life! 🙂

The books that you’ll see below is just the part 1. I decided to split my haul in two because it’s hard to shoot them all in one frame. 😀 Majority of the books below are from secondhand bookshops so I didn’t spend that much, 3 were given by a publisher for review and one book was borrowed from a friend and one was gifted to me. 🙂 Many thanks to Portobello Books for providing me a copy of The Vegetarian and Human Acts by Han Kang and The Nakano Thrift Shop by Hiromi Kawakami. 🙂

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson (I’ve been hearing good things about this book. I was lucky to have found a copy at a secondhand bookshop. :))
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (She just visited the Philippines recently. Sadly, I was not able to attend her book signing.)
Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew A. Smith (My first Andrew Smith book! I’m excited!:)
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (Excited but at the same time afraid to start this one. I don’t know why.)
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami (Finally! I enjoyed the movie! Will definitely do a book to movie review once I finished this one.)
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (A hardbound classic book from a secondhand bookshop. No other reason not to take it.)
Middle Passage by Charles R. Johnson (A National Book Award winner. I’m also intriged by the synopsis.)
The Vegetarian by Han Kang (Weird but I totally love the story. Check my book review here.)
Human Acts by Han Kang (Will definitely read this year bfore the year ends.)
The Nakano Thrift Shop by Hiromi Kawakami (Reminded me of Haruki Murakami’s writing while I was reading it. Check my book review here.)
Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach (A classic. Saw this one cheap so I bought it.)

The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill (Saw this one in Booktube and I know I have to read it.)
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara (FINALLY! It’s quite chunky but I know it will be worth it!)
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (Saw this hardbound gem at a secondhand bookshop for a very ceap price!)
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (Gifted by a friend.)
The Plot Against America by Philip Roth (Another hardbound gem from a secondhand bookshop.)
A Sport of Nature by Nadine Gordimer (I have a couple of of books from this Nobel Prize for Literature awardee. I know I have to get around to her books soon.)
Underworld by Don DeLillo (It’s DeLillo and it’s cheap. Very rare instance.)

The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill (Yes, my second copy. Because, why not? :))
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (My first Agatha Christie that I’ll read. I know it’s a shame.)
Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom (Borrowed from a friend.)
The Federalist Papers by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay (Because HAMILTON!)
The Shining by Stephen King (In time for the Halloween.)
The Last Lecture by Jeffrey Zaslow and Randy Pausch (I know this will make me cry.)
Finnegan’s Wake by James Joyce (I tried reading it and I gave up after the first paragraph. It has a lot of references that I know I have to e familiar with before I read it. Soon. Soon.)
Politically Correct Bedtime Stories by James Finn Garner (This will be fun!)
The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers (A lot love her The Heart is a Lonley Hunter. Saw this one cheap and I know I have to get this one.)
My Antonia by Willa Cather (Currently reading this one now. I’m loving it so far.)
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon (Trying to complete my Pulitzzer Prize award-winning novels.)

The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov (My heart skipped a beat when I saw this at a secondhand bookshop!)
The Vacationers by Emma Straub (I’ve been seeing this one quite a lot in some bookish sites. Finally found a copy.)
Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan (Because Halloween!)
The Lone Ranger and Tono Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie (Haven’t read his The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian but I have to have this one as it will be handy in case I’ll enjoy that book.)
Wild by Cheryl Strayed (A nonfiction book that was enjoyed by everyone that I know who have read it.)
Un Lun Dun by China Miéville (I read from somewhere that this is a good book to get started with Mieville’s works.)
Stories: All New Tales by Neil Gaiman, Al Sarrantonio (Nel Gaiman and found it cheap. An auto-buy.)
Mating by Norman Rush (To be honest I can’t remember taking this one. I read the synopsis and I’m glad I did. I know it’s something that I’ll enjoy.)
Tampa by Alissa Nutting (Aside from the intriguing cover, the synopsis is intriguing.)
